A balanced power chain deserves more than a generic power cable. The PLiXiR The Statement Balanced AC Power Cable combines thick conductors made of ultra-pure copper with a specific balanced geometry, a carefully positioned ground conductor, and double shielding.
PLiXiR developed this cable for balanced power delivery to hi-fi equipment. Especially when used with a balanced power conditioner, such as the Elite BAC, the design is intended to maintain the power supply's noise suppression up to your component.

Why power cable geometry matters
With The Statement, it is not just about the conductor material. According to PLiXiR, the current-carrying phase and neutral conductors are placed in a precisely defined geometry along the entire length of the cable. This construction is designed for power delivery from a balanced power supply and the maintenance of common-mode noise suppression.
Common-mode noise is a disturbance that occurs on both power supply conductors. PLiXiR describes its cable architecture as a way to carry the noise-suppressing properties of a balanced power conditioner further through the power chain, rather than only paying attention to balance at the output of the conditioner.
The cable does not balance ordinary mains voltage itself. A suitable balanced power source or power conditioner is required for that. The Statement can also be used as a conventional hi-fi mains cable, but the specific balanced application is the core of the design.
Clean Earth: attention to the ground conductor
The placement of the ground conductor is a distinctive part of the construction. According to PLiXiR, it is located in the neutral field of the cable: the area where the fields of phase and neutral cancel each other out through the chosen balanced geometry.
With this Clean Earth construction, the manufacturer aims to limit the influence of the ground conductor by the adjacent current-carrying conductors. It is a design principle for the internal cable construction, not a guarantee that the grounding of every installation becomes completely noise-free.
Ultra-pure copper and double shielding
According to the manufacturer, The Statement uses thick conductors made of ultra-pure copper. The generous conductor construction is aimed at power delivery, while the balanced geometry and shielding are intended to limit unwanted interference.
Around the cable construction, PLiXiR combines copper foil with a braid of oxygen-free copper, also referred to as OFC. This double shielding is intended as protection against external noise influences.

When you use an external BDC power supply, this AC cable belongs on the mains power side of that power supply. Between the DC output of the power supply and your streamer, DAC, or other DC-powered component, a separate, suitable DC cable is required.
